Community Guidelines
Last updated: April 2026
Sauce is a space for sharing recipes, techniques, and culinary creativity. These guidelines help keep our community safe, respectful, and inspiring for everyone.
1. Be Respectful
Treat others with kindness. Disagreements happen — keep them about the food, not the person. Harassment, hate speech, and personal attacks have no place here.
2. Share Authentic Content
- Post your own recipes or properly credit the source
- Don't misrepresent AI-generated content as entirely your own original work
- Don't impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
3. Keep It Safe
Prohibited content includes:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, immediate removal and reporting to authorities including NCMEC where applicable
- Violence or threats against individuals or groups
- Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Harassment or bullying of other users
- Self-harm or suicide content — we care about your wellbeing; please seek help
- Illegal activities — recipes or instructions for producing illegal substances or engaging in criminal activity
4. Respect Intellectual Property
- Don't post recipes or content you don't have the rights to share
- If you believe your work has been posted without permission, report it for takedown
- Give credit when adapting someone else's recipe
5. No Spam or Scams
- Don't post repetitive or irrelevant content
- Don't use Sauce for phishing, fraud, or deceptive commercial practices
- Don't artificially inflate engagement (likes, follows, saves)
6. NSFW Content
Recipes with adult-oriented themes or humor may be posted with the NSFW label enabled. Content must still comply with all other guidelines. Do not post sexually explicit material.
7. Reporting Violations
If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines:
- Tap the "Report" option on any recipe or creator profile
- Your report will be reviewed by our moderation team
- We take all reports seriously and act promptly, especially for child safety concerns
8. Enforcement
Violating these guidelines may result in:
- Content removal
- Temporary or permanent account suspension
- Account termination for severe or repeated violations
- Reporting to law enforcement where legally required
Removal timelines: We aim to act on reports within 72 hours. Reports involving child safety (CSAM) or imminent harm are prioritised and reviewed within 24 hours.
You may appeal enforcement actions by contacting support@sauce.app.
9. Be Generous
The best communities are built on generosity. Share your knowledge, help new cooks, and celebrate others' creations. A rising tide lifts all sauces.
